Jack Plooij is a Formula 1 reporter and journalist, speaker, and dentist with stories from the pit lane, the stage, and the clinic.
Most people know me as the face of Formula 1 coverage at Ziggo Sport or as the familiar voice at Grand Prix Radio. After more than fifteen years in the heart of the paddock—taking viewers behind the scenes with my notorious Grid Walks and spontaneous interviews—I now serve as the resident expert in the studio. From Ziggo Sport Race Café and during live commentary at Grand Prix Radio, I use my deep knowledge and my well-known “crystal ball” to analyze the sport.
My world extends beyond the circuit. When I am not in the paddock, you can find me in the clinic. As Chef de Clinique and NVOI-registered implantologist, I combine my scientific background with a passion for aesthetics. I like to call myself a mouth architect. For me there is no difference between top-level sport and dentistry because both fields revolve around ultimate precision, perseverance, and a winner’s mentality.
Alongside my work as a journalist and dentist, I enjoy sharing my experiences on stage. Whether touring theatres with Olav Mol to share revealing anecdotes or inspiring organisations as a guest speaker with lessons on leadership and teamwork, I translate the hard lessons from racing into practical tools for business—always with a healthy dose of humour.
Last autumn I embarked on a new adventure. Together with eleven other Dutch celebrities, I took part in the game show Pandora, based on the Greek myth of Pandora’s box. In this thrilling game, everything revolves around trust, temptation, and strategy. The big question is: can I collect as much money as possible for the charity I chose?
With four books to my name, I try to convey my passion for the sport on paper as well. I also enjoy challenging myself with new adventures, such as my participation in Pandora’s Box on RTL 4. Whether it is a surgery, a live broadcast, or a talk for a full audience, I always go for the best possible result.
Formula 1 comes alive when you can feel the stories. Together with Olav Mol I take the theatre tour on the road, sharing the smell of the paddock, the humour of the pit lane, and the lessons of the season.
